As creatives it’s so important to take time for ourselves or even get away to rejuvenate those creative juices! I had the opportunity to change up my office for the day in LA and even take a little break by the pool with DayAxe at the Intercontinental in Century City.

DayAxe – Hotel Day Access

DayAxe is a great service that lets you use the amenities, restaurants, and work spaces that some hotels offer by purchasing a day pass for a small fee. Why buy a day pass instead of getting a hotel room for a whole night? Especially when you just want to change up your working environment if you’re local to the area or want to use the spa/pool for the day, it’s easier to buy pass instead of shelling out big money for an entire night. For me, this hotel was far enough away for me to feel like I was having a little “staycation” but close enough where I could return home at the end of the day. I’m an LA “valley girl” at heart and most of the time prefer to be over the hill, BUT I love escaping every once in a while and adventuring to new places.

My Time at the Intercontinental

It can get repetitive working from the same environment for anyone and this was such a fun day to get out of the usual (and out of my head!). The Intercontinental was a nice hotel with great food! Their décor was pretty sweet too, with the cutest succulent display right when you walk in. I loved their seating areas, they were nice and cozy with a modern touch. The food was delicious! I tried their avocado toast (which has a nice kick to it, even though I’m not the biggest fan of spicy stuff) their California rolls, and their sliders. All must-trys! Their pool is located on the roof-top and had lounge chairs. I loved that it was on the roof with some cool city views! Lastly, they didn’t have a “business center” per say, but there were some tables near their VIP lounge that you could get some work done. It was quiet and had wifi access!

You can try a DayAxe pass for yourself and get 15-25% off your first pass! I’d love to know your thoughts and let me know where you stay! I’m looking forward to having another out-of-home work day at a different LA hotel soon!
